Ginger ale, spicy ginger beer, regular beers, and eventually mead….

Rest in Peace, Siffycat.

Siffy cat, ~1997-2010. She passed peacefully in her sleep.

Ow.

Six days after tripping and falling in my bedroom, landing against the dresser:

I actually hit below my knee. The bruising in my foot is from gravity causing the blood to flow downwards, and the toes are due to blood flowing along the tendons.

Trust me, it LOOKS a lot worse than it feels – but I’m not doing acrobatics, either.

Gray Lodge Medal of Honor

Gray Lodge Medal of Honor

I was presented the Gray Lodge Medal of Honor at our monthly Stated Meeting on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010. As far as I am aware, this is the highest honor that my individual Lodge can bestow upon a Brother, and only one is awarded each year.

“This Medal is awarded to Bill Bradford in recognition of his support to the Master of Gray Lodge and his dedication as the Chairman of the Technology Committee and his valuable contributions. His hard work should be recommended to the craft as the recipient of the Gray Lodge Honor for the Masonic Year 2009-2010.”

All I’ve ever done is try to give back to my Brethren and my Lodge as much as they’ve given to me.

If it wasn’t for Freemasonry, I wouldn’t have made it through the past year after Amy’s death.

My second tattoo

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

A week ago (on Wednesday the 9th), I went down to The Electric Chair on Richmond here in Houston for an appointment with Stephanie.

A couple of hours later, I left with this on my upper left arm:

Elder Sign Tattoo

It’s an Elder Sign from the works of H.P. Lovecraft.

I’m still here. Barely.

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

I’ve just been really swamped with work and lots of other stuff lately, plus I’ve tended to post shorter things to Facebook.

June 16th will be the one-year anniversary of Amy’s death. It doesn’t seem that long; it seems like a couple of weeks rather than twelve months. I’ve taken that week off work; this will be the first vacation I’ve had in over a year. Needless to say, I’m pretty burned out and stressed. My house is a mess because I’m too tired after work to clean, and too depressed some days to care.

Had to sell my MacBook to pay bills related to Amy’s passing. Don’t know when I’ll be able to afford another, as there are still more bills to pay.

I hope to spend the evening of the 16th out somehow with friends, but there are no concrete plans yet. I certainly don’t want to spend that day here at home alone.

I now seem to own a silver bucket.

Suggestions (please leave them on Facebook, not here) on what to do with it are welcome.
