At End Of Road
You are standing at the end of a road before a small brick building. Around you is a forest. A small stream flows out of the building and down a gully.

ugh. eBay

Monday, October 10th, 2005

eBay is both wonderful and a huge pain at the same time.

About a week ago, I did a Buy-It-Now for a Griffin iMate ADB-to-USB adapter and an Apple Extended Keyboard II (the best keyboard ever made, other than the IBM Model M).

Everything arrived today, but unfortunately the keyboard wasn’t in the best of shape. I’ve emailed the seller, and hopefullly they’ll replace it. In the meantime, I’m attempting to epoxy it back together in case they don’t follow through.

The important thing in this purchase was the iMate, which normally costs $40 - I got it and the keyboard for $36 shipped.

If anybody has an Extended Keyboard II sitting in a closet they’d like to get rid of, please let me know… Now that I’ve got a pair of iMates (one for home, one for work) now all I need is a couple of spare keyboards.

Finally, someone explains it well

One of the best writeups I’ve seen on the topic: Linux is Not Windows.

Uh oh.

This scares me.
It’s nice to know that our President hears voices in his head.

Strangest playlist ever

Wednesday, October 5th, 2005

My current iTunes playlist consists of the Blues Brothers soundtrack, some Stevie Ray Vaughan, and some Cruxshadows.

Some of the segues are a bit, shall we say, “jarring” :)

another sickness conquered

Monday, October 3rd, 2005

I came down sick last Wednesday, went to the doctor, ended up with some massive antibiotics, and missed two and a half days of work in the meantime. I caught most of the work up yesterday from home (yay VPN technology) and am finally back at the office today. I *hate* getting really sick about once a year. At least this time it wasn’t pneumonia like last year - that laid me out for two full weeks.
