in the “obvious” department..

My new KeyTronic keyboard has an installation manual. It’s contents consist of:

Installation Instructions
1. Turn OFF your computer
2. Insert the keyboard cable connector into the keyboard port on your computer
3. Turn your computer ON. During power-up the computer will run a short test. Upon successful completion of the self-test you can use the system.

Are people *really* that stupid nowdays, that they need instructions on how to hook up a keyboard?

    YES

I’ve seen an awful lot of people swapping PS/2 keyboards while the system is running, so I’d say yes, people need instructions.

  3. Shawn Says:

Yes, they really do. Especially if they’re complete neophytes, such as my grandparents.

People are that stupid and I tend to work with one of their leaders.

Hum … but USB keyboards can be plugged in without turning off a computer … so how would a person know that the KeyTronic can’t do that?
