  1. Yes, I think you are. Sorry.

I’ve got too damn much on my Dock. Like you, I’ve got the Applications folder, but that isn’t good enough. What I want is something like WindowMaker’s slide out drawers (which were probably copied from GnuStep, which probably copied it from NextStep, but I’ve never used either of those…). I think I’ve seen mention of Dock replacements that do that.

From top to bottom, I’ve got
    Finder
    Firefox
    Mozilla
    X11
    Terminal
    iChat
    iTunes
    IE (don’t ask why)
    System Preferences
    Safari
    Quicken
    Photoshop Elements
    Photoshop 7
    iPhoto
    Send to Handheld
    Quicktime
    Activity Monitor
    Gallery Remote
    MacStumbler
    NetNewsWireLight
two .term files to open different combinations of Terminals
    Applications Folder
    Microsoft Office Folder
    Trash

It’s hard to fit it all in.

  2. Shape? Nah. I only keep the bare esentials there. Finder, Firefox, Terminal, and iTunes. Everything else is in my AliasMenu. It’s not as good as my AfterStep root window menu in Linux but close enough I guess.

  3. Tony, you kick ass. I just installed that and got rid of the (slow) Applications folder in my Dock.

  4. I’ve got Quicksilver installed already, I just have to keep reminding myself to use it..
