blood flows red on the highway

Tuesday, October 14th, 2003

Nothing quite like seeing a tire on the dump truck ahead of you blow up and shred at 60MPH on the highway. Shreds of tire flew EVERYWHERE, but nobody got hurt and there were no accidents. The truck driver just pulled over to the side of the road.

Tony came over last night with his Land Rover Defender and picked up the entertainment center I was giving away. That’s one kick-ass vehicle.

kill bill

I finally saw Kill Bill, Quentin Tarantino’s new film, yesterday. Violent, gory, bloody, but if you liked Pulp Fiction, you’ll probably like this one. Already picked up the soundtrack and am on the Amazon notification list for when the DVD comes out. Vol. 2 of the movie comes out in February.

my guitar wants to kill your mama

I’ve gotten tired lately of only having computer stuff as a hobby. I’ve been trying to spend less time on the computer, and more reading, selling/getting rid of old equipment that I don’t use anymore, things like that. I realized that I miss playing guitar. I played from around age 14 until about four years ago, when I stupidly sold my Washburn electric and Marshall amp to pay an electric bill. As an early birthday present (Nov. 5th), we went down to Guitar Center a couple of days ago, and I came home with this:

It’s an OLP MM1 in translucent purple. The amp is a Marshall MG15DFX. I also got a Korg GA30 tuner, a string winder, some Ernie Ball strings, a strap, Hercules guitar stand, generic hard case, and a couple of guitar magazines.

The only bad thing is that I’m having to rebuild all the calluses I had five years ago. Typing on a keyboard and playing a guitar also use two entirely different sets of muscles.
